Hoasca
Religion born in the Brazilian Amazon, the União do Vegetal (UDV) will host in May, in Brasilia, the II International Congress of Hoasca, the tea used as sacrament in the ritual. Participants from Spain and the USA, where UDV has already established temples, will debate with Brazilians the last researches made on the ritualistic use of the “vegetal”.
UDV is opening the doors to show what it is and what it came for. Besides de researches, Raimundo Monteiro de Souza, the present Mestre Geral Representante (General Master Representative) of UDV, says ” The congress will bring a broader dimension of what the Union of the Vegetable is. It does not mean only to drink the tea as a sacrament, but also to enlighten the consciousness of the human being in the sense of developing their moral, intellectual and spiritual virtues”
